Indigenous Engagement Consultant
Gail Joe, a member of the Lower Nicola Indian Band in the Nicola Valley near Merritt, joined ETSI-BC in June 2024. With over 35 years experience in economic development, Gail has provided business support to Indigenous communities and entrepreneurs in small business development, individual home ownership, and tourism.
As the Indigenous Engagement Consultant, Gail liaises with First Nation communities to gather crucial input for amending the Trust Act and its governance structure. This initiative aligns with DRIPA Action Plan 4.39, which aims to incorporate First Nations involvement in ETSI-BC’s governance and decision-making processes.
