ETSI-BC Fall Funding Intake Draws Impressive Regional Interest

The Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC) received an unprecedented response to its 2026 Fall Funding Intake from communities and organizations across the region. The Funding Intake closed on October 8, 2026, with 43 applications requesting nearly $1.9 million in funding for projects with a combined project value of over $3.8 million.

Applications came from economic development organizations, business support organizations, Indigenous organizations, and local governments working to strengthen economic development capacity and support diversification throughout the Southern Interior.

The 43 proposed projects span the Columbia-Kootenay and Thompson-Okanagan regions, with applications representing all nine regional districts served by ETSI-BC, reflecting broad regional interest and participation in the intake. Six applications were submitted by Indigenous-led organizations as well.

“The strong response to our Fall Funding Intake reflects the commitment of communities and organizations across the Southern Interior to building resilient local economies,” said Laurel Douglas, CEO of ETSI-BC. “The applications bring forward practical ideas to strengthen local economic development capacity, support local businesses, and create lasting regional benefits.”

With more than $1 million available through this Funding Intake, the ETSI-BC Grants Team will review all applications in the coming weeks. Project Consultants may contact applicants during the review process to discuss project scope or clarify budget details where required.

ETSI-BC will contact applicants directly once funding decisions are available and will advise them of any changes to the review timeline.
