Supporting Entrepreneurship at Post-Secondary Institutions in the Southern Interior

March 8, 2022 – The Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC) has supported public post-secondary institutions (PSIs) in the Southern Interior of BC since 2008 with funding of over $7 million. With the launch of its new Strategic Plan in April 2021, funding is now being provided to encourage entrepreneurship and to support post-secondary institutions as they help businesses in the region hire local students and graduates.

New Funding for 23 Economic Development Projects in the Fall 2021 Funding Intake

December 15, 2021 – Communities in the Southern Interior of BC have some much-needed good news to cap off a year which has brought its share of hardship for this part of the province. The Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC) has just awarded over $620,000 in funding to support 23 projects that will help build and diversify the region`s economy, as part of its Fall Funding Intake. Project partners include local governments, First Nations and non-profit organizations in the Southern Interior.

New Data Platform Supports Southern Interior Communities and Regional Districts

November 16, 2021 – More and more, local and regional governments are seeking to grow their local economy by attracting new talent, investment and businesses to their regions. Timely and relevant economic data is paramount for those making relocation and investment decisions. To support Southern Interior communities and Regional Districts, the Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC) recently launched a new data visualization tool which features key economic data for each of the nine Regional Districts in our service area.

Growing the Southern Interior through Research Partnerships

October 12, 2021 – The Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC) is partnering with Mitacs to help the region`s businesses, non-profits, First Nations and municipalities by funding Mitacs research internships in partnership with any of the public post-secondary institutes in the Southern Interior of BC. This new partnership intends to address challenges or opportunities that will lead to economic development in the region.
